JEE Main Eligibility Criteria for Admission in
IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs
The eligibility criteria for admission to IITs,
NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs are determined by the respective institutes, not the
NTA. The NTA sets eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE Main, but the
admission eligibility is provided by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority
(JoSAA), which handles the counseling process for
these institutes. For more details on admission eligibility, candidates should
visit the JoSAA website.
Minimum 75%
Marks in Class 12
To secure admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs,
candidates must score at least 75% in their Class 12 exams, while SC/ST
candidates require a minimum of 60%. Some states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya
Pradesh, and Bihar have lower Class 12 score criteria for BTech admissions via
JEE Main.
