The proposed ITI is being set up in this educationally backward area of Ellenabad. This town is bordering Rajasthan. The people are mostly farmers and speak Hindi, Punjabi and Bagri dialect. Agriculture is the backbone of the people. Besides agriculture the main occupation of the people is dairy and production of vegetables. Economically, the people are well off but due to the lack of exposure to the industries at National and International level , they have remained educationally and socially backward. The programmes of ITI would help the local community in improving their skill and also help in empowerment of the various sections of society including women, youth and the scheduled castes. If the proposed ITI is set up in this area, the people in general and students in particular will get a lot of knowledge about technical skills from the various programmes offered.
The Targeted Community for this ITI is the rural masses who are farmers. They need exposure and awareness, so that they can compete with the World. The students of the area can get a great knowledge of the National and International skills through this ITI. The educational programmes regarding technical skills can help the people in improving their material production. The rural youth is becoming idle due to lack of skill. If the ITI is set up and can provide knowledge about various technical skills about various activities which a youth can do sitting in his house, these rural youth folk can definitely improve their lot and can contribute to the development of the society and the nation.
The local community consists of Punjabi speaking rural masses that are lively and full of enthusiasm. They are culturally rich and can contribute to the production of the various materials. Similarly the Rajasthani (Bagri) people are wise, rich in culture and knowledge seekers. Their rich culture has contributed a lot to the National events and there is no reason that the proposed ITI will not lag behind in producing goods by involving the local community. The local people have a great experience of agriculture, dairy, fishery, vegetable growing and various types of bird rearing. They can help the ITI in the production of skills based on their experiences. We propose to engage the community members directly in skill development programmes.
An interest research was conducted on the students of this area and the local people regarding the Prospects of ITI. The overwhelming response of the students was that the ITI will expose them to the World of knowledge. The people in general were greatly interested in the ITI because this will help them in getting the skills for their jobs. Our institute desires to conduct a broad survey on the social, economical and educational problems of the society in this area and the ways to solve these problems through the programmes of ITI.
